Programs funded by Jennings County United Way work in these areas to advance the common good by:

Meeting basic needs
» Supporting critical services that ensure a safety net for families in crisis – food, shelter and basic necessities
» A network of dozens of agencies and churches working to coordinate programs that help fill the gap and refer clients to “next step” services
» Ensuring access to youth programs for all children

Helping children & youth achieve their potential
» Providing scholarships to make it a little easier for graduating seniors go to college
» Improving access to quality, affordable child care and early learning opportunities
» Partnering with schools to provide enriching programs
» Providing after-school and mentoring programs for at-risk youth

Improving people’s health
» Promoting healthy lifestyles and encouraging youth to be active
» Reducing substance abuse, child abuse, and domestic violence
» Supporting programs for senior citizens

Helping families become financially stable
» Increasing financial education to help hardworking people obtain family-sustaining security
» Increasing Earned Income Tax Credit awareness
